Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and love is in the air! If you are looking for some cute DIY projects to decorate your home, look no further! I have some fairly simple projects to share with you that I have completed all within the last week! I love how they turned out and how cute they look in my home! I can’t wait to make more!

There are 5 projects I am going to share with you. I will include photos, supplies needed and links to tutorials (if available). Have fun, be creative, and please share your finished projects with me via my Pinterest page!

Project 1: A beautiful Tulip Wreath

I first saw this idea on a Facebook Wreath Group and I fell in love immediately! I found a couple of video tutorials on how to make it and you know what, it looked fairly simple! I decided to give it a go and I am really pleased with how it turned out! It cost less than $30 to make and I’m certain you can do it for cheaper than that depending on where you buy your supplies, coupons, etc. You can personalize it, choose your colors, and even leave it up after Valentine’s Day for Spring!

Supplies needed: foam wreath form with flat sides (I used the larger one from Michaels), bunches of tulips (I bought 2 different color sets, 5 of each from Michaels), floral pins, satin ribbon that is not wired, and hot glue (optional).

Project 2: Flower Heart Canvas

This project was inspired by a project from Canary Street Crafts I found on Pinterest. Their project, Easy Spiral Paper Flower, caught my eye and I knew I had to try it! When I began to gather supplies, I couldn’t find a burlap canvas, so I improvised and used a regular square canvas I had on hand. I mixed acrylic paints (red, yellow, and blue, then a little white) to create a gold paint. I basically followed their blog post to create my project but changed it up a little to personalize it. I created the wording “Love Grows Here” on my Cricut and cut it out using 651 vinyl. To help it stick better, I applied Mod Podge over my painted canvas first. The flowers were cut out on my Cricut as well using various shades of cardstock and I varied the sizes of the 3d flowers as well. I made all the rolled flowers except for the white ones and a few small pink ones, which were purchased from Michaels. I love how this project turned out! I think I will try finding the burlap canvas to make the next one and use htv for the wording. If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can make your own rolled flowers or purchase flowers.

Supplies I used: square canvas, acrylic paints, paintbrush, Mod Podge, foam brush, various pink cardstock, quilling tool (optional), glue dots (used to adhere flowers once rolled), Cricut, flowers purchased from Michaels, hot glue gun, black and white vinyl

Project 3: Valentine Frame Decor

This project was inspired by a blog called Paper, Ribbon, and Ink.  I pretty much followed her directions to a tee … but changed up a few things to personalize it. You can get creative with this project and make it your own style.

Supplies needed: frame, spray paint, sandpaper, burlap or decorative paper for background, cardstock hearts (I cut some of mine out using my Cricut and some of them are purchased hearts from Michaels. In the blog, she uses a heart punch to create her hearts), Wording (I created K-I-S-S using my Cricut onto glitter vinyl which made it easy to apply to the glass. She purchased her wording.), foam dots or glue dots to apply hearts, and other embellishments (such as the little pearls I added to the wording or ribbons you might want to tie to edge of frame).

Project 4: Lighted Valentine Wine Bottle

This is a project I have completed many times for different holidays and themes, so I am going to share with you my original Lighted Wine Bottles blog post for directions. I was inspired to make a Valentine bottle when I came across the cute man/woman making a heart design on Cricut Design Space. The wording “Love More Each Day” is a free svg file from the Love SVG site. You can personalize and stylize your lighted wine bottles anyway you want, using any wording you want, with any embellishments you want… That is what makes it such a fabulous project!

Supplies I used: wine bottle from a friend:), cork light purchased from Amazon (set of 12), black and red permanent vinyl, Cricut for cutting, valentine ribbon I had on hand, little heart charm purchased at Michaels, thin jewelry wire to tie on the charm

Project 5: Cute Wooden Valentine Sign

This was one of those projects where I had something on hand and looked at it and said: “What can I make with this for Valentine’s day?” I had the unfinished wood sign I had purchased from Michaels and wanted to put a cute saying on it for Valentine’s Day. I looked on the Love SVG site and found the “love always wins” file and voila! You can personalize the sign to say whatever you want! You just need some paint and some vinyl, super easy! I used one coat of white chalk paint. I created the design on my Cricut using permanent vinyl. What a quick and easy project to add to your display!
