Glimmering blush in the sky just above the blue waters on a warm night in June
Beauty and wonder lighting the night, its the Strawberry moon
On June 28, 2018 I witnessed the Strawberry moon from a beach in St. Augustine. What a spectacular sight! The full moon, named the Strawberry moon, perhaps derived the name from the Native Americans because it occurred in June, which is peak strawberry month. However, it also appears to have a reddish tint when close to the horizon. In Europe, it is also called the Rose moon. Hope you enjoy the photos taken from Surfside Park, Vilano Beach in St. Augustine, Florida.

Love these pictures. I didn’t realize the June full moon was called a Strawberry moon, but it certainly fits its name!

Thanks Jennifer! I wasn’t sure what to expect when we went to the beach that night, but it was fabulous! At first it was low in the sky and looked huge, was magnificent to see!
